If Mega Evolutions, Core and Super Training weren’t enough within this week’s reveals for Pokémon X and Y, three new critters have been announced for the Nintendo 3DS exclusive.
Electric and Fairy-type Dedenne emits radio waves from its antenna-shaped whiskers to communicate, plugging its tail into outlets to drain their electricity. It has a new ability, Cheek Pouch, which allows it to gain HP from eating a Berry during battle alongside the fruit’s own benefits, whilst another new Electric-type move Nuzzle damages and paralyzes an opponent.
Next up is Bunnelby, a Normal-type, that burrows in the ground with its shovel-shaped ears to create a den. They are immensely powerful, capable of cutting trough thick tree roots, and therefore effective in battle. Bunnelby can learn the Ground-type move Dig, which will be familiar to long-term players.
Lastly, we have the Grass-type Skiddo which evolves into Gogoat. Said to be the first Pokémon to live alongside humans, and doesn’t mind carrying people or supplies on its back – having learned to read the feelings of its riders through their grip on its horns. Skiddo can learn the Grass-type move Leaf Blade, where the user wields a sharp leaf to slice like a sword.
And once again, Nintendo decides the sixth generation of Pokémon will not be complete until they make another Pikachu rip-off.
Poor Pikachu can’t catch a break.
Wow…. just wow…. all they did was grab a Raichu, stick it with Maril´s ears, and add tv antennas. Pokemon design ftw!
