Bohemia Interactive has announced that DayZ Cool Edition is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.
You are challenged to test your survival skills in a post-apocalyptic world, where a land has become overrun with an infected zombie population. Competing with other survivors for limited resources, will you team up with strangers and stay strong together or play as a lone wolf to avoid the risk of betrayal?
The port will include both the base game and DayZ Frostline, with the developer exploring support for platform-specific features like Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS), Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), motion controls, mouse controls with the Joy-Con 2 controllers, and touchscreen input for inventory management.
“DayZ’s launch on Nintendo Switch 2 represents an important milestone for the franchise and reflects the team’s effort to bring the game to all relevant platforms while ensuring each platform offers an experience tailored to its distinct capabilities,” the developer explains in a press release.
“The release also aligns with Nintendo’s broader efforts to expand its portfolio of mature gaming experiences on its newest hardware, with DayZ’s survival gameplay, player-driven storytelling, and open-world sandbox mechanics delivering a distinctive hardcore survival experience for Nintendo Switch 2 players.”
DayZ Cool Edition will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide in 2026.
