Darksiders: The Forbidden Land Board Game Will Cost You £349.99

THQ Nordic has revealed Darksiders: The Forbidden Land, an official board game that, for the first time, will let you play as all of the Four Horsemen in the same game.

The bad news is that the board game carries a high price tag, as it will only be made available in the Darksiders Genesis Nephilim Edition. That’s priced at £349.99 (€379.99).

In this co-operative dungeon crawler board game, up to five players will take on the role of their favorite Horseman and battle through a new storyline set in the Darksiders universe.

When the barrier to the Forbidden Land is unexpectedly broken, The Charred Council orders the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse to investigate.

Accompanied by an observing Watcher, it soon becomes clear that the isolated world hides more secrets than The Charred Council was willing to reveal. And so, the search for the relics of an ancient civilization and a deadly demo begins.

With asymmetric player abilities and customizable decks of cards for each Rider, you must move, attack enemies, and upgrade your Rider using the board game’s card economy mechanic. Be careful though, as once your deck runs out you’ve lost the battle.

The Campaign Book’s story is spread over 19 different levels that are grouped into multiple scenarios. You can tackle them in sequence, or focus on a single scenario or level for shorter gaming sessions.

There are rules determining how the enemies will behave, but one player can play as the game master – controlling the monsters to present an extra level of challenge.
