Red Hook Studios has confirmed a release date for their grim turn-based road-trip RPG Darkest Dungeon 2 on Nintendo Switch.

You will have the chance to set out on a “thrilling” journey through five campaigns – referred to as Confessions – that each has its own terrifying boss and pervasive mechanics.

There are now 14 playable heroes, including the Duelist and the Crusader, an extensive metagame progression hub, 10 companion pets with different run-defining properties and optional thematic difficulty modifiers in the form of the Radiant and Infernal Flame equipable items, for those who want less or more challenge.

“We’re thrilled to bring Darkest Dungeon II to the Nintendo Switch, offering players the chance to experience the intense strategic depth and atmospheric horror of our game wherever they go,” enthuses Red Hook Studios design director Tyler Sigman. “The Switch’s unique capabilities perfectly complement the immersive journey through the darkest reaches of our world.”

Darkest Dungeon 2 will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 15 July 2024.
