Dark Souls: Remastered Will Not Have Cross-Platform Play

With the news that Dark Souls: Remastered will soon release on Nintendo Switch, many have wondered whether the game would support cross-platform play. Sadly, Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed that will not be happening.

The unforgiving action role-playing game has an online multiplayer component that will let up to six players collaborate or confront one another, on dedicated servers. There had been some hope that Nintendo Switch owners could play with those on Xbox One and PC, but the publisher has confirmed that the game “will not have cross-platform play.”

We know that Nintendo did not hesitate in allowing cross-platform play for Rocket League, meaning that it wouldn’t have been something that they weren’t willing to support. And, it has been seen in other Nintendo eShop games such as Infinite Minigolf, Chess Ultra, and Mantis Burn Racing.

Dark Souls: Remastered will release on Nintendo Switch worldwide on May 25th.
