It may have only been last week that Nintendo expanded the amiibo range with the Super Mario Collection, but we already have our first custom Captain Toad amiibo.
Reddit has been ignited by users sharing their own creations, but it has been gsusfreak‘s that impresses most.
With the new Toad amiibo as a basis, he used RadioShack’s pellet-form U Mold Plastic to create the neckerchief, vest and backpack, drilling holes to route the wires necessary to add a 5mm LED for his headlamp.
A splash of paint finished the job, but the neatest implementation means that Captain Toad’s headlamp lights up whenever it comes into contact with the Wii U GamePad’s NFC reader – the rewiring removing the need for any batteries to power it.
