Today’s Super Smash Bros. Invitational concluded with well-calculated, if not frantic, grand finale between Gonzalo “CT ZeRo” Barrios and Juan “Crs. Hungrybox” Debiedma.
They successfully fought their way through the tournament as Zero Suit Samus and Kirby respectively, ending in a sudden death match that saw CT ZeRo deliver the lucky knockout blow to Nintendo’s cuddly pink star, clinching victory for his efforts.
Kevin “EG PPMD” Nanney was also awarded ‘Fan favourite ‘ of the tournament, playing as Star Fox’s Fox McCloud throughout.
Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime appeared to present the prizes, revealing that, while he plays all Nintendo games, he sucks at Super Smash Bros. He will, however, look to seize the opportunity to play Super Smash Bros. for 3DS on the go, and warned competing players that he would kick their ass if the event returned in the future.
