Crytek: We’re trying to decide what we could do best with TimeSplitters IP

TimeSplitters

Crytek’s co-founder, Avni Yerli, has commented that the developer is still trying to decide what they are going to do next with their TimeSplitters IP, whilst fans continue to pine after the next instalment in the series.

TimeSplitters 4 was unveiled as being in development back in 2007, although no further details surrounding the title have been made since.

“Obviously Timesplitters, historically, was for them [Crytek UK] an important IP,” Yerli explained. “From our perspective we always had a lot of fun playing Timesplitters – Timesplitters 2 was amazing fun. Crytek and Crytek UK are interested in the IP; we are thinking about it but we’re trying to decide what we could do best with the IP, where we could bring it. There are no concrete plans yet.”

Following the suggestion of an HD collection comprising of the already existing games, Yerli commented: “That’s a good idea! [laughs] There are indeed a lot of games doing it but we haven’t thought about that yet. But it’s a good idea…”
