Crytek: Crysis 3 was “very close” to launching on Wii U

Crytek had Crysis 3 “running on the Wii U,” according to recent comments from the company’s CEO Cevat Yerli.

Even more of a concern was that it was “very close” to being launched, yet didn’t due to a “lack of business support” between Nintendo and EA.

“We did have Crysis 3 running on the Wii U,” Yerli revealed to VentureBeat. “We were very close to launching it. But there was a lack of business support between Nintendo and EA on that.”

Without a publishing license, Crytek were therefore left with a situation in which the Wii U version “had to die.”

He continued, “Since we as a company couldn’t launch on the Wii U ourselves – we don’t have a publishing license – Crysis 3 on Wii U had to die.”
