Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has made his VGX appearance as teased, with a Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze announcement hidden up his sleeve.
At least it was, until it leaked earlier in the week when Amazon.it inadvertently leaked revised box art for the Wii U exclusive.
Cranky Kong is the game’s fourth playable character, joining Donkey, Diddy and Dixie on a banana-fuelled jaunt to save their island from frosty invaders. Cranky seemingly handles in a similar way to DuckTales: Remastered‘s Scrooge McDuck, who will be able to use his cane to bounce on enemies and over obstacles, and also, more significantly, marks the first time that the character can be directly controlled in the series’ history.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will release for Wii U across North America on Friday 21st February 2014, with a European date yet to be announced.
