Costume Quest 2 spooks Wii U this Halloween

Costume-Quest-2

Double Fine’s Costume Quest 2 will see release on Wii U through the Nintendo eShop this Halloween, the award-winning developer has confirmed..

Players will once again take control of twins Reynold and Wren as they adventure through this trick or treating role-playing game, fighting evil Grubbins by putting to use Halloween costumes that grant superhuman powers.

More Halloween costumes will appear as well as returning favourites, with new additions including the Clown that acts as a healer, the Superhero can throw buses at enemies, and the Candy Corn, which does nothing but that’s part of the humour. Those wearing the Candy Corn skip their turn every time with an on-screen message mentioning why they aren’t doing anything, apparently. That could be “Candy Corn has nothing to prove” or “Candy Corn decides to sit this one out,” and Double Fine want to have thousands of variations on this.

The battle system has been refined, adding attack combos and rewarding those that time button presses correctly. Players will hunt down hidden piñatas stuffed with candy whenever they aren’t fighting, and cards can be collected to enhance your abilities in battles. These can be purchased from vendors or earned through completing side quests.

Costume Quest 2 will release on Wii U through the Nintendo eShop this autumn.
