With Pokémon Let’s GO, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s GO, Eevee! now revealed to the world, The Pokémon Company has announced that the core RPG games that were teased at E3 2017 will release on Nintendo Switch in late 2019.

These games will continue in the style of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y or Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, which seemingly sounds like they will mark the start of Generation 8.

The Pokémon Company president and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara has spoken about how he sees the game “as a chance to create Pokémon that goes deeper and with a higher level of expression,” whereas Game Freak co-founder Junichi Masuda has offered his thoughts on the brand’s future on the portable home console.
