The Pokémon Company and Game Freak have revealed Pokémon Camp in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.

This is a place where you can “enjoy a moment of relaxation and fun” with the Pokémon in your party, discovering a new side to them that you wouldn’t normally get to see.

You can get to know your Pokémon better by playing with them using a Poké Toy or a variety of bouncing balls, and you will also have the chance to cook curry, which is a popular dish in the Galar region.

There are more than 100 curries that you can create, based on which berries and other ingredients that you choose.

You will need to fan the flames until they’re strong enough to cook the curry, before stirring the pot to make the best batch.

Once it’s cooked, you can enjoy the curry that you have created with your Pokémon – registering your creation to the Curry Dex.

Pokémon Camp is also a way to connect with other players in the Wild Area, in that you can join the camp of another player or have up to three players visit your camp – interacting with Pokémon or making curry together.

If you see a tent while using local communication or when connected to the internet, these are used to highlight a Pokémon Camp that you can visit.

You will need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to visit another player’s Pokémon Camp online, but it is not required when using local communication.

In Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, you will choose between three starter Pokémon – Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble – before having the chance to explore the Galar region – with its idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy, snow-covered mountains. Challenging the Gyms in the region, you will once again look to become Champion.

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide on November 15th.
