7LEVELS has announced that Castle of Heart will soon see release on Nintendo Switch, in which players control a cursed knight that has been turned to stone by an evil sorcerer’s spell.
Ready to prove that love and courage can conquer even the darkest magic, this classic action-platformer will challenge players to journey from their petrified village to the dark ruler’s castle – overcoming 20 levels that take place in four environments.
The game’s aesthetics and bestiary take their inspiration from Slavic mythology – with some locations taken from famous, mystical locations in Poland where the studio is based – as well as the dark fantasy atmosphere used in games from the golden age of the genre.
The enemies that you encounter will require different strategies to be beaten, with the developer using this to engage players with dynamic action sequences – calling on increasingly powerful weapons and a magic arsenal to succeed.
But, a body of stone has its limits. It will disintegrate permanently as the knight loses energy, which can only be regained by defeating enemies. Worryingly, if you let it reach a critical level your hero can lose an arm, and, as a consequence, the ability to wield weapons with it.
Castle of Heart will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Q1 2018.
