Codemasters Keeping An Eye On Nintendo Switch

Codemasters was listed as a third-party publisher that will support Nintendo Switch, but, as of writing, they haven’t announced any games for the platform.

That isn’t to say that they haven’t been keeping an eye on how the portable home console has been doing, and now see it as “a valid place to be” thanks to the market share that it has secured.

“Obviously we’ve been watching how the Switch is performing and it’s selling really well,” the publisher’s creative director Lee Mather explained to GamesIndustry.biz.

“It probably wouldn’t be suitable to have exactly the same game we have running on Xbox One and PS4, but there’s certainly the possibility we’ll look at doing something on Switch. We’ll see what happens in future. It’s certainly getting the market share to make it a valid place to be.”

Codemasters had supported Wii U with F1 Race Stars: Powered Up Edition, and when the console was announced at E3 2011, a third-party sizzle trailer had suggested that the DiRT Rally series would come to the platform, although that never came to happen.
