The character becomes the latest downloadable content for the mascot brawler, and was announced in November’s Nintendo Direct. Cloud has his original Final Fantasy VII outfit and that seen in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, and will use Limit Breaks when brawling with his opponents. His Limit Break meter will fill as he deals and receives damage, and, once full, Cloud can unleash more powerful Limit Break attacks.
Cloud will be accompanied by a new Midgar stage, where fighters can collect Summon Materia that will call forth summons such as Ifrit, Bahamut ZERO, Ramuh and Leviathan that will impact the stage in different ways.
Meanwhile, a new Chocobo hat leads new Mii Fighter costume content. This is joined by a costume inspired by Geno from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Knuckles and Tails from the Sonic the Hedgehog series, and more.
Cloud and the Midgar stage are available in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U or Nintendo 3DS priced at £5.39 / €5.99 / $5.99, or both game versions together for £5.39 / €6.99 / $6.99.
