Magic Pockets has announced that its “relaxing, feel-good restoration game” Clean Up Earth is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.
Equipped with the Terra Cleaner, you must use your modular cleaning tool to vacuum up pollution from land and water to rebuild damaged landscapes to help plants and wildlife return.
You can choose to play solo for “a calm, mindful experience,” or team up with friends and the wider community to restore massive worlds together.
The developer also explains that “your in-game cleanups can contribute to real environmental organisations working on the ground, turning virtual actions into real-world impact.”
The developer has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Escape, unwind, and make a difference: In Clean Up Earth, experience the instant satisfaction of vacuuming away waste and uncovering the beauty beneath. Watch polluted landscapes come back to life as each piece of debris you remove helps nature breathe again: plants grow back, wildlife returns.
- Relaxing and Rewarding: Explore breathtaking environments inspired by real-world locations — from sunlit beaches to misty mountains and arid deserts. Immerse yourself in soothing atmospheres where the sounds of nature and your actions create a calming flow. Feel deep satisfaction as every piece of waste removed reveals more of the world’s hidden beauty.
- The Terra Cleaner: Your modular cleaning tool is simple yet powerful: vacuum garbage, uncover buried litter, clean toxic debris and recycle waste in Recyc’lab display for restoring broken structures. As you progress, upgrades unlock new possibilities, letting you tackle bigger challenges and access new areas. Designed to feel intuitive and gratifying, every use of the Terra Cleaner brings visible transformation.
- Solo, Coop, Community: Your Way: Start alone, invite close friends (up to 8 player co-op depending on map size), or join larger shared cleanup zones (up to 25 players) when you choose. Clean Up Earth always respects your comfort level while allowing you to scale up and feel the impact of positive collective action.
- World lore and discoveries: Beneath the waste lie ancient artifacts and forgotten echoes of past civilizations. As you clean each area, these relics and playful quantum memories are revealed. From Area 51 to the Bermuda Triangle, and beyond, each map hides secrets waiting to be uncovered.
- Real World Environment Impact: An integrated environmental fund, tested during Jingle Jam 2025, allows Clean Up Earth to support real ecological initiatives alongside trusted projects like World Cleanup Day and partners such as Plastic Pickup, Recyclop, Expedition MED, Wings of the Ocean, etc. Starting at its launch, Clean Up Earth will allow players to participate to real-world waste cleaning efforts by triggering micro-donations to selected NGOs. Simply through play, with no extra spending required.
- A Journey with Meaning: Clean Up Earth is more than a cozy cleaning sim. It’s a gentle reminder that small steps matter, and that collaboration can create real change.
Clean Up Earth will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide in April 2026.
