The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild and Festive Vector have announced that Sail Forth is now available on Nintendo Switch, news that was shared as part of the week-long Inside the House of Indies holiday event.

In this “Sail Forth, a “quirky, breathtaking sailing adventure,” you awaken on the remains of your shipwreck without your memories or knowing where to go next. After tieing together your ship’s shattered parts to make a makeshift sailboat, you set out to seek answers across the Deepblue.

The world’s fate hangs in the balance, after a mysterious substance known as The Deadrock corrupts several “deep sea baddies.” You must master “accessible, semi-realistic wind sailin’ physics” in your efforts to explore the wide, expansive ocean before you which has six distinct island biomes that include the ice-filled Frigid Sea, the Green Ruins which is home to ancient stone structures, or the impenetrable treelines of Pine Peaks.

You will need to scan coastlines for upgrade materials, landlubbers to recruit, Skull Clan bases, ability-locked containers and other activities, with more than 30 side quests to complete and mini-games to participate in.

“Holiday cheer has sailed to the high seas and brought the gift of Sail Forth!!” enthuses The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild producer Michelle Lega. “We are also stoked to reveal two new modes to expand accessibility, Auto Sail and Free Sail. Auto Sail mode provides easier navigation for struggling sailors and Free Sail mode only offers the company of the open ocean and endless horizon. We appreciate everyone’s patience this past year as we worked hard to ensure this adventure will be enjoyed by both realistic sailing fans and casual captains. Thank you all!”

Sail Forth is now available digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
