Argonaut Games has confirmed a release date for Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos, which is coming to Nintendo Switch.
The developer has remastered this sequel to Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, which restores the title used during the original game’s development.
“October 1 also marks the start of Croctober, a whole month of news, updates, and surprises on Argonaut’s social channels, with the launch of Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos on October 29 as the highlight,” the developer explains in a press release.
In the sequel, Croc sets off for the mainland in search of his long-lost parents. However, his journey becomes a showdown as his arch-nemesis, Baron Dante, is resurrected by the Dantinis and vows revenge. Croc’s quest takes him through four distinct villages, where he rescues captured Gobbos and faces off against a roster of Guardians, including Soveena the Squid, whose obsession with Ginger Soda makes her a menace to contend with.
Beyond its enhanced visuals, you can expect a range of quality-of-life improvements and, along with Croc’s classic moves, he can now triple jump to gain that extra height when he needs it most.
As with the remaster of the first game, the developer is introducing an in-game digital museum called Croc2pedia. This will offer a behind-the-scenes look, with never-before-seen development materials, cut content and interviews with the original and remaster teams.
“Players now have a date for their next adventure with Croc, October 29,” explains Argonaut Games co-CEO Mike Arkin. “This remaster brings together the original’s open-ended 3D platforming, enhanced visuals, and quality-of-life improvements. We look forward to welcoming fans back to the Kingdom of the Gobbos and introducing new players to this beloved sequel.”

Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 29 October 2026.
