Nicalis has announced that they are working on a free software update for Cave Story+ on Nintendo Switch that will introduce a Classic Graphics option.

Expected to become available in August once it has blasted its way through Nintendo’s approval process, it will bolster the remake – that already adds new music options, difficulty levels, and several game modes.

“Free update for Cave Story+ with classic graphics in August! Game available now at retail and eShop,” the publisher shared on Twitter.

Now available on the Nintendo eShop and at retailers across North America, Headup Games has partnered with Nicalis to release Daisuke “Pixel” Amaya’s cult classic platformer, as well as The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+, in Europe.
