Cave Of Shadows Challenges Revealed For The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD

“When the going gets tough, the tough tap amiibo.” Ending a week of speculative discussion, Nintendo has today published a new The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD trailer that confirms how amiibo will be used in the Wii U exclusive remaster.

It clarifies details surroundings information leaked by Amazon France, and in Japan’s Weekly Famitsu magazine this week.

Those that scan the Wolf Link amiibo can unlock the Cave of Shadows, braving a brand new series of challenges where you must use Wolf Link and Midna’s abilities to wipe out waves of enemies. After conquering the cave, players can save a record of their remaining hearts to the amiibo, and return to attempt to beat their score in a later attempt.

The Link and Toon Link amiibo can be scanned once per day to restore arrows, while the Zelda and Sheik amiibo can restore hearts, and the Ganondorf amiibo can be scanned to see extra damage dealt to the player until the end of their play session.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will release exclusively for Wii U in Europe and North America on March 4th, and in Japan on March 10th.
