The Pokémon Company and Niantic have announced that Trainers that make a Research Breakthrough in Pokémon GO will encounter Shedinja, the Shed Pokémon that, up until now, has been unavailable in the location-based game.

Shedinja had first appeared in Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire, evolving from Nincada but with the special condition that it would only happen if the player had a spare slot in their party.

Seeing as there would be no way to implement that special condition in Pokémon GO, you will need to score yourself a Research Breakthrough after collecting seven stamps from completing Field Research tasks. Remember that you can only earn one stamp per day.

Shedinja will become available as a Research Breakthrough reward at 1pm PDT on Thursday 1st November, and Niantic has added that November’s Field Research tasks will feature Bug-type Pokémon such as Shiny Caterpie.
