The Australian Classification Board has issued a rating for Castlevania Anniversary Collection, signalling that Konami has upcoming plans to celebrate the long-running gothic action-adventure series.

What the collection contains or whether it will release on Nintendo Switch is unclear at this point in time, with the rating – issued on 12th March 2019 – listing it as a multi-platform release.

Castlevania was first released on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986, 33 years ago. The series has since gone on to receive sequels on the Game Boy, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, Wii, and more.

Konami has produced Castlevania collections, or compilations, before, such as the Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania & Contra (2002) for PC, the Castlevania: Double Pack (2006) for Game Boy Advance, or Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles (2007) on PlayStation Portable.

The most recent was Castlevania Requiem that, released on PlayStation 4 in 2018, contained Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
