Bandai Namco Entertainment has shared a system trailer for Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters, which is in development for Nintendo Switch.

The trailer showcases “several major new systems” that you can expect to see in the game:

  • Max Actions: High-risk, high-reward power moves that dominate offensive and defensive exchanges.
  • Super Moves: Character-specific abilities for forwards, midfielders, and defenders, including Super Shots, Super Passes, Super Dribbles, and Super Tackles.
  • Chain System: Build momentum through dribbles, passes, and special actions to amplify shot power and charge speed.
  • Goalkeeper Tactics: Six directional shot prediction, stamina-based duels, and break mechanics that permanently reduce keeper stamina.
  • Miracle Actions: Rare, dramatic comeback moments that can turn the tide of a match, capturing the unpredictable spirit of the original series.

From developer Tamsoft, the game is based on the long-running anime and manga series and invites you to create your own character and join Tsubasa on his quest. You will forge new friendships and fight new rivals in your effort to bring the trophy back home.

With the chance to unleash super moves for everything from dribbling and tackling to passing and shots on goal, this game has been pitched as “the biggest Captain Tsubasa game yet.” You can expect 22 national teams, over 110 playable characters, and more than 150 new moves.

The action on the field has been “significantly enhanced,” with its Super Action Soccer gameplay chaining together superhuman plays to “create unforgettable matches and action-packed sequences.” There is a new system that makes blocking goal shots more tactical, pitting the goalkeeper against the shooter to let both players “experience and counter jaw-dropping super shots and blocks from characters of the original series.”

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions sound composer Tadayoshi Makino reprises his role, producing more than 90 new BGM tracks for the upcoming game.

Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2026.
