Activision Blizzard has announced that digital pre-orders for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on Nintendo Switch 2 are now open.

Head to the Nintendo eShop and you can choose to purchase either the Standard Edition (£69.99) or the Vault Edition (£99.99), which includes the Hostile Alliance Operator Pack (4 Operator Skins: Price, Valeria, Ghost Blix), Special Forces Operator Pack (4 Operator Skins representing the United Kingdom, Germany, France and South Korea, each with voice packs in their local languages), Signature Weapon Collection (5 Signature Weapons), BlackCell – 1 Season (Battle Pass, 20 Tier SKips, 1,100 CP and more), and a DMZ Deployment Bonus (Additional bonus content in DMZ).

“We’re thrilled to welcome Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 to Nintendo Switch 2,” enthuses Nintendo of America senior vice president of publisher and developer relations, Steve Singer. “Call of Duty has brought players together through intense multiplayer competition and blockbuster storytelling for years, and we’re excited for Nintendo fans to jump into Modern Warfare 4 on Nintendo Switch 2. Beginning with the Open Beta, players can experience the action wherever they choose to play.”

Digital Legends studio head Xavier Carrillo-Costa adds: “For the first time in more than a decade, Call of Duty is back on a Nintendo platform, and we’re incredibly proud that Digital Legends has partnered with Infinity Ward to make it happen with Modern Warfare 4. Our goal has been simple from day one: deliver the genuine Call of Duty experience on Nintendo Switch 2. Players can enjoy the full intensity, authenticity, and quality of Modern Warfare 4 wherever they are, whether at home or on the move.”

You can participate in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta on Nintendo Switch 2 in Weekend Two, which runs from Friday 28 August – Tuesday 1 September 2026.

With this next game, the developer has looked to push the series “into darker and more dangerous territory, where consequence and escalation bring long-running storylines to a powerful and emotional breaking point.”

The Campaign will drop you into trench warfare in Korea, close-quarters combat in New York, high-octane chases through Paris, SAS night raids in Mumbai, and city-wide assaults to reclaim occupied territory.

Whereas Multiplayer promises to deliver “grounded, precise combat where fluid movement, player choice, and greater control define every engagement.” It will introduce Ballistic Authority, which is pitched as “a new weapons-first innovation that brings the most authentic Modern Warfare gunplay yet.”

You can expect the game to launch with 12 Core maps and Kill Block, which is described as being “a new and dynamic battleground that reconfigures its layout between rounds across more than 500 configurations.” DMZ returns as an extraction experience, in which either solo players or squads are dropped into a shifting combat zone where every deployment will play out differently.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 23 October 2026.
