Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for Wii U may still be on the cards

“How far will you go?” asks Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, after Activision lifted the lid on Treyarch’s dark vision of a gritty future yesterday evening.

But one question that we hoped would be answered wasn’t. After Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare skipped Wii U last year, it still remains unclear whether the enormously successful series will make another dash for the console.

Eurogamer report that at a reveal event in Santa Monica, the game was shown running on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

“There are no ‘ports’,” Treyarch’s Mark Lamia had explained. “The game is made on multiple platforms, it’s the beginning of a new generation and we’re showing it to you on all these platforms, to dispel some of the misconceptions about development.” He added, “We’re working on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. That’s it.”

Asked as to whether Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U versions were on the cards, Eurogamer were directed to Activision who shared that they had no further platform announcements to make.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will introduce a four-player co-op campaign, a new “momentum-based chained-movement system” to multiplayer that will let you move through environments more quickly, and the returning zombie mode.

It’s always been the case that confirmation regarding any Wii U version, be that for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Call of Duty: Ghosts, came late. Now to play the waiting game.

  1. If that what they said, there’s no Wii U version to wait for… I’m not a CoD fan but I was hoping to get this one
