Ultimate Games and A2 Softworks have announced that Bushcraft Simulator is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.
In this realistic simulation game with roguelike and survivalist elements, you will find yourself on an island cut off from the world and overgrown with a wild forest. You will be challenged to survive as long as possible in a hostile environment with access to only limited resources.
Taking care of your character’s needs will play “a very important role,” such as their health, eating, hydration, and warmth. The developer hopes the game’s “realistic approach to survivalism” will set it apart – preparing drinking water requires the player to collect the right raw materials before applying them in the right order, for example.
When setting up a camp, you must plan sleeping areas, shelters, and campfires to ensure both your character’s comfort and that they can safely survive the night. By day, you will explore the wild forest for which you must manage the weight that you carry and prepare the right set of tools to help ensure you survive.
“This is a game that should appeal to fans of bushcraft and survivalism. Certainly players who appreciate productions in the style of Green Hell, The Forest or Valheim will find something for themselves in Bushcraft Simulator,” explains A2 Softworks developer Andrzej Stroiński.
“The game focuses on realistic aspects of survival, which can be found in vain in other productions with similar themes. The simulator will be distinguished by a thoughtful combination of realism and varied and intriguing gameplay.”
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- the struggle for survival in the wild forest;
- collecting and crafting;
- shelter creation;
- exploration, combat and uncovering secrets;
- roguelike survival.
Bushcraft Simulator will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide, with a release date or window to be confirmed.
