V7 Entertainment has announced that Bush Hockey League will release on Nintendo Switch this week.

Pitched as a way to “experience hockey the way it was meant to be played,” this old-school arcade-style five-on-five hockey game comes packed with ’70s afros, big moustaches, no helmets, dirty hits, bench-clearing brawls, goalie fights, stick fights, knockouts, injuries, ref abuse and locker room language.

Winning bouts will fatigue your opponents to present a clear advantage to score goals and win the game, or you can set out to injure most of your opponents to secure victory by forcing your rival to forfeit the match.

The game comes to the portable home console with “tighter controls and timing, faster animations, and tweaks made to the core gameplay design to make for a more enjoyable time out there on the ice.” The developer has also added power-ups that can let your players “hit harder, deke faster or goon out your opponents to get them to throw down their gloves and start fighting, wearing them down so you can sneak in some goals.”

Bush Hockey League will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 14th April 2022.
