During today’s Pokémon Direct, Junichi Masuda has revealed that Professor Sycamore won’t actually give players Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie as expected, but rather the choice from a selection of much loved classics.
The Pokémon expert will instead provide you with either Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle, whilst a friend will give you the Pokémon X and Y starters. That means that you will receive one of each to accompany you on your new adventure.
Such news came alongside optional services Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter.
