Phoenixx and Bandai Namco Studios’ indie game label GYAAR Studio have announced that GooNECT√2 will soon see release on Nintendo Switch.
Pitched as a “comedic collaborative adventure,” whether as a classic couch co-op experience or with an online partner, two players will be challenged to set off on a spirited journey through a vibrant world.
Putting your stretchy, rubber-like arms to the test, each player must hold hands the entire time as they make their way towards the goal. You will aim for a high Bond Level rank at the end of each stage, which is based on clear time, number of restarts and number of hearts collected.
With unlimited, randomly-generated stages across eight difficulty levels to conquer, which will see you overcome towering wooden blocks, giant basketballs, and powerful wind gusts by pulling, launching, or even using each other as a stepping stone.
“We’re excited to bring GooNECT√2 to a global audience,” enthuses a Bandai Namco Studios spokesperson. “Its predecessor, Goonect, was very popular in Japan, and we hope more people will come to enjoy the thrills of sharing one fate with their gaming partner. GooNECT√2 adds lots of new features to the game, while maintaining its focus on fun and friendship building.”
GooNECT√2 will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch in May 2026.
