Arc System Works and Taito Corporation have confirmed a release date for Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeons on Nintendo Switch.
In this “all-new Bubble Bobble experience,” the bubble-blowing dragon Bub sets out on a grand adventure through Sweet dungeons that change every time.
You must blow bubbles to catch bullies, using your horns and spikes to burst those bubbles to defeat them. The bubbles that you produce can also be carried by the wind, which you can hop on to reach high places.
The treasure that you gather can be used to level up your abilities, with the chance to strengthen Bub, helping you to descend even further into the dungeons.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- The first in the series to feature “dungeons” that change every time you step into them: Each time you enter a dungeon, the shape of the stage, the platforms, the enemies that appear, and their placement change, so you can always enjoy a fresh level! You don’t necessarily have to beat all of the enemies in this game! Simply trap them or defeat them your way, and move on to the next stage by passing through the donut-shaped gate! In the dungeons, it is easy to get “treasures” that can be used to make Bub stronger, so dive back into dungeons repeatedly to collect treasures and build Bub’s skills up! Once you get used to the controls and familiar with leveling Bub up, we recommend challenging your limits and dive even deeper into the dungeon!
- Uncover the map as you traverse massive castles. Another series first: Castles are massive stages filled with a labyrinth of rooms. Will you get lost in the maze, or will you use your wits to make it through? Unique bosses also await you inside, so give Bub the proper training and equipment to aim for the deepest part.
- Master new and returning skills: The Water Bubble is back in a new form! You’ll also find new skills that will help you along your journey, like Balloon Wig, which you can control mid-air, and Rolling Attack, which wipes enemies out. Use skills to break through paths that were once inaccessible, and wipe out tough enemies all at once! Master them and sweep away your enemies in one fell swoop!
- Find the skills and strategies that suit you: The skills you have learned become items you can use. The number of items you can take to a dungeon at once is fixed, so it’s up to you to decide what kind of skill items and useful items you take and how many of them you take. It is also up to you to decide in what order to strengthen Bub with the treasures you have collected. Try to find the skills and strategies that suit you!
Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeons will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 27 November 2025.
