Atari has announced that the brick-breaking Breakout: Recharged will release for Nintendo Switch this week.
Made in collaboration with Adamvision Studios and SneakyBox Studios, the Recharged series “breathes new life into the most seminal fan-favourites of the 1970s and ’80s while keeping true to what made those games undeniable smash-hits – simple and engaging gameplay, accessible pick-up-and-play controls, and plain ol’ high score-chasing fun.”
The modernised brick-breaking classic has been treated no differently, coming complete with an electronic 80s-inspired original soundtrack from award-winning artist and composer Megan McDuffee.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features as below:
- Endless Mode: Put your brick-breaking finesse to the ultimate test;
- Local Co-Op: Who said Breakout was a solo game? Not anymore;
- Break Through the Challenge: Compete in a series of 50 increasingly challenging levels that put even the most seasoned players to the test.
Breakout: Recharged will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 10th February 2022.
