Nintendo and Square Enix have revealed that Bravely Default II is in development for Nintendo Switch.

From Bravely Default and Octopath Traveler producer Team Asano and developer Claytechworks, it is a successor to the original Nintendo 3DS game.

With all-new Heroes of Light, players will once again set out on a new story with a new world to explore.

That adventure will be accompanied with music from Revo (Sound Horizon/Linked Horizon), who had composed the Bravely Default soundtrack.

“With so many fans and gamers watching, The Game Awards is the perfect place to celebrate the best of the video game industry in 2019 and provide a peek at some upcoming experiences for 2020,” explains Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, Nick Chavez.

“As we close out an outstanding year for Nintendo, we hope gamers are looking forward to the new year after getting just a taste of the exciting things coming to Nintendo Switch.”

Bravely Default II will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2020.
