Koei Tecmo and Gust have announced that Blue Reflection Quartet is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
Pitched as “the ultimate bundle of all four titles in the Blue Reflection series,” it includes the two Blue Reflection console games, a console port of the mobile game Blue Reflection: Sun with an updated battle system, and a story scenario summarising the 24-episode anime Blue Reflection: Ray.
It will also introduce a Reference database, presenting you with a chance to deepen your understanding of the Blue Reflection world, and a Gallery where you can view a selection of illustrations from character designer and general supervisor Mel Kishida.
“The heroic RPG series explores the heartfelt bonds between students as they navigate their academic environment and magical forms called Reflectors,” the publisher outlined in a press release.
“Players were first introduced to the series with Blue Reflection, originally released in 2017. The game follows students Hinako, Yuzuki, and Lime as they face an imminent threat to the world. In the Quartet version, fans will discover the emotional story in a new light thanks to the HD upgrade of the game’s atmospheric shimmering water, environments, and characters. Furthermore, several features that were not included in the title’s original release, such as faster moving speed and auto-save, will be added to further refine gameplay.
“Following the first title, an animated series, Blue Reflection: Ray, aired in 2021. Fans will revisit the story of students Hiori and Ruka in Blue Reflection Quartet with new 3D models of the main characters alongside an extra short story that can be unlocked by gathering Memory Shards. A prologue and epilogue will also be added to the anime’s story to cohesively tie the series’ titles together.
“Available from 2023 to 2024 as an exclusive PC and mobile title, Blue Reflection: Sun depicted a complex story involving a protagonist assigned to lead a squad, dealing with each member’s personal troubles, while fighting against Testa – monsters born from ashes. For the first time, players will be able to experience the story of Blue Reflection: Sun on console with revitalised combat using the battle system from Blue Reflection: Second Light. Fans will also enjoy a newly created event for Chapter 24 as well as unique conversations not featured in the original release, alongside a prologue and epilogue connecting this title to others in the series.
“Finally, Blue Reflection: Second Light, released in 2021, explores protagonist Ao Hoshizaki as she and her fellow students face their own feelings while attempting to uncover their lost memories and discover the truth of their world. In the Quartet version of the title, eight new battle party members from Blue Reflection: Ray and Blue Reflection: Sun will be added, as well as quality-of-life features such as faster movement speed and auto-save. Furthermore, familiar faces Yuzuki and Lime from Blue Reflection will be included in photo mode alongside other characters, enabling fans to take pictures of the whole cast.”
Blue Reflection Quartet will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch worldwide on 30 July 2026.
