505 Games has revealed when Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will release on Nintendo Switch, the gothic horror-action side-scrolling RPG in development at Koji Igarashi’s ArtPlay.
That news comes alongside a trailer that has looked to show how much the game has improved in the last year, whether that be more fluid controls, enhanced lighting, or improved graphics – set against music from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night composer Michiru Yamane.
Set in 18th century England, a paranormal force has summoned a demon-infested castle that reveals crystal shards that have been infused with tremendous magical power.
You play as Miriam, an orphan left scarred by an alchemist curse that slowly crystallizes her body. To save humanity and herself, she must fight her way through the castle to defeat the summoner Gebel and his countless minions and bosses.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on June 25th, and at retail on June 28th.
