Aksys Games have confirmed that BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II is set to release for Nintendo 3DS across North America on May 31st, and is described as being an “enhanced port” of the critically-acclaimed BlazBlue: Continuum Shift.

Set to feature the complete set of single-player features from the console version (including Arcade, Score Attack, Training and Story mode and an ad-hoc Network mode for multiplayer), the handheld iteration is topped by new content created specifically for it such as extra story material and brand-new modes.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II will include the full 18-character cast of the original BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, incorporating the three DLC characters Makoto, Valkenhayn, and Platinum. In addition, the game also features the new system mechanics and game balance revisions introduced by the original arcade version and system version 1.03.

The ad-hoc Multiplayer mode will see up to four players able to view the same lobby, with two observing a match whilst the other duo battle it out.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II will release across North America for Nintendo 3DS on May 31st.
