Inti Creates has announced that Blaster Master Zero 2 is out now on Nintendo Switch, after it was revealed in this week’s Nindies Showcase Spring 2019 presentation.

The side-scrolling and top-down hybrid action-adventure gameplay returns in this sequel, which continues with Jason and Eve’s yet-untold story after they defeat Earth’s mutant scourge.

It begins a few months after the events in Blaster Master Zero, where Eve becomes infected by mutant cells that slowly start to corrupt her body. With Jason and Fred, they board G-SOPHIA and look to return to Eve’s home planet, Sophia, in the hope of finding a cure.

You must master the Gaia System to bring out G-SOPHIA’s full potential, which converts energy created by the impact of falling from tall heights or taking damage. This is turned into SP, which is used to power G-SOPHIA’s sub-weapons. Jason also has the Blast Counter, a new technique in top-down view stages that will let you deliver a powerful counterattack.

Blaster Master Zero 2 is now available on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide, priced at £8.99 ($9.99).
