Microids and Revolution Software have confirmed a release date for Beyond a Steel Sky on Nintendo Switch.

This sequel to the classic Beneath a Steel Sky is set a decade after the events of the original game. You once again play as Robert Foster, who, after a child is abducted in a brutal attack, vows to bring him home.

This leads you to Union City, which stands as one of the last remaining mega-cities in a world that has been left ravaged by shattering wars and political upheaval. Its citizens loving life under the control of an altruistic artificial intelligence, the city’s neon lights hide its dark underbelly.

Pitched as “a dramatic, humorous, cyberpunk thriller,” you will be challenged to overcome puzzles and unravel a fast-paced narrative that is set in a dynamic game world that responds to – and is subverted by – your actions.

“I am thrilled to be able to open the gates to Union City once more, and welcome console players to Beyond a Steel Sky which launches this winter,” enthuses Revolution Software founder and CEO Charles Cecil. “It has been a pleasure and privilege to have had the opportunity to collaborate with Dave Gibbons again in bringing Robert Foster back after an absence of two decades – and what an extraordinary change there has been!”

Beyond a Steel Sky will release at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 30th November 2021.
