It may only be February, but Bethesda has confirmed plans to host an E3 2016 Showcase. That marks a successive return to the hugely anticipated industry event, after the third-party publisher held their first-ever showcase at E3 2015.
This year, that will be held on Sunday 12th June at 7pm PST (10pm EST). While which games will be shown remains shrouded in secrecy, last year’s event chose to spotlight Fallout 4, Doom, Dishonored 2 and Battlecry.
With Nintendo NX to be revealed this year, it remains to be seen as to whether Bethesda will support the new “dedicated game platform.”
Bethesda last supported Wii, for which they had published Star Trek Conquest and Wheelspin. However, they had never assigned their own development resources behind the console, stating that it “wasn’t even an option” due to the low-powered hardware.
They were equally hesitant about Wii U, but never made their position clear by instead saying “never say never.” However, vice president Pete Hines later criticised Nintendo’s efforts to engage third-party publishers.
