Befriend Souls On Their Way To The Afterlife In Spiritfarer On Nintendo Switch
Thunder Lotus has revealed that Spiritfarer will release on Nintendo Switch, the developer’s third game that they describe as a “cozy management game about dying.”
In looking to deliver an experience that is both entertaining and emotionally moving, you play as Stella, ferrymaster to the deceased.
After building a boat to explore the world, you will befriend and care for the spirits that you encounter before finally releasing them into the afterlife.
That will see you farm, mine, fish, harvest, cook, and craft your way across mystical seas, with the chance for a second player to join you as Daffodil the cat in cooperative play.
“As soon as I heard the initial idea, it became clear to me that Thunder Lotus was where I belonged,” explains creative director Nicolas Guérin.
“It was as if it finally made sense, as if games could really be what I always thought they had to be. And this one would be just that. A game that matters, an experience that means something and has a purpose.”
Spiritfarer will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2020.
