Having signalled their intention to launch the service on Xbox One by the end of the year, it would appear that rolling out BBC iPlayer for Wii U won’t be too far behind.
Responding to my query as to how it is progressing, executive product manager Marcus Parnwell commented: “We are fairly close with the Wii U and hope this will launch soon.”
It was back in January that the broadcaster revealed plans to bring the streaming service to Nintendo’s console, although had offered no timeline as to when they expected it to arrive. Then again, we’re still waiting on Nintendo TVii to surface in Europe…
