High praise from critics has helped Bayonetta 2 secure itself a strong debut in the UK All Formats Top 40 chart this week, according to GFK Chart-Track.
The Wii U exclusive was the highest new entry having placed seventh, with other arrivals coming in the form of Civilization: Beyond Earth which entered at 18, Just Dance 2015 at 19 and Singstar: Ultimate Party in at 32.
It was FIFA 15 that retained top billing, with the sales tracker indicating that EA titles have remained at No. 1 for 18 out of the 43 weeks so far this year. Meanwhile, Minecraft: Playstation Edition jumped by 82 percent, with The Evil Within, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel all seein sharp sales decline. Surprisingly, it was the Wii audience that drew the lions share of Just Dance 2015’s early success, attributed to 55 percent of sales.
