Sneakily placed at the end of the Wii U exclusive’s blisteringly paced launch trailer, a Bayonetta 2 demo is now available through the Nintendo eShop.

This will allow you to take PlatinumGames’ latest for a spin ahead of release – for those in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America – battering enemies into submission with the Umbra Witch’s new Umbran Climax ability. Now nearing launch, the game has already received high praise with a strong review in Weekly Famitsu and a perfect 10 from EDGE.

Bayonetta 2 will release exclusively for Wii U across Europe and North America on October 24th.

  1. “with North America presumably to follow later today” as stated by the article. We just have to wait and see.

  2. Well I downloaded and played the demo last night. The graphics are great and really show off the WiiU’s hardware the gameplay is slick and you soon get in the flow of combo’s and dodging into witch time. However I don’t see this game selling well, its so focused on the young male teen demographic it put me off. I was embarrassed to be playing it in front of my wife with most cut-scenes having the camera following Bayonetta’s curves for 10 seconds before any dialogue.

Unfortunately for Nintendo the decision to back this game came before they knew the audience of the WiiU and will become another bullet point for the arguments that mature games fail on the WiiU and Nintendo should stick to Mario.

I just wish they had put this money into getting GTA 5 ported
