It has been revealed that DICE originally pitched first-person shooter series Battlefield as a GameCube exclusive to Nintendo, according to comments made by Penny Arcade’s Jeff Kalles during the 2nd Annual Live Podcast Telethon for Child’s Play with Nintendo World Report.
Kalles, who formerly worked for Nintendo of America, stated that despite Nintendo loving the initial pitch for the game, it was never continued due to the company not having an online strategy in place.
EA previously announced at E3 ’11 that the Battlefield series will at last arrive on a Nintendo platform later this year, when the Wii U is released.
