Streamline Games has launched a Kickstarter campaign seeking funding to add online multiplayer to Bake ‘n Switch on Nintendo Switch.

That has seen the developer look to secure an additional £24,181, which, with 28 days left to go until the campaign ends, has seen 278 backers already pledge £10,024.

“The personal connections we formed with new fans at PAX East were eye-opening for us,” explains Streamline Games COO Stefan Baier. “The game is ready now and should be shared with more players. We hope to achieve that through our online campaign.”

Streamline Media Group CEO Alexander Fernandez adds: “Streamline acknowledges that now, more than ever, people are turning to video games to provide entertainment and connect them with family and friends.

“Playing apart, together is our shared global reality, and the team has rallied behind the idea of bringing multiplayer to Bake ‘n Switch. We wanted to bring back the joy of playing together, and we can’t wait for players to join.”

The “violently cute party brawler” challenges up to four players to work as a team to punch, combine, and bake dough creatures – sacrificing them to the Guardians of Dough.

The developer promises “full contact baking, in-your-face action co-op,” with easy-to-pick-up controls but challenging levels.

Bake ‘n Switch will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Summer 2020.
