Digerati and iNK Stories have announced that 1979 Revolution: Black Friday will release on Nintendo Switch, the multi-award winning and BAFTA-nominated interactive drama.

Immersing players in the turbulent real-world events of the Iranian uprising, it has received widespread acclaim for its gripping narrative and accurate portrayal of a pivotal moment in the history of the Middle East.

1979 Revolution: Black Friday was written and directed by game development veteran Navid Khonsari, who has worked on games like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Alan Wake and Resident Evil 7.

While he grew up in Iran, he left with his family after the revolution. The game has been banned in the country and Konsari accused of being a spy for the United States, after Iranian officials labelled it “pro-American propaganda.”

1979 Revolution: Black Friday will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on August 2nd.
