Inti Creates has announced that Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 is now available on Nintendo Switch.
This is a “true blue sequel” to Azure Striker Gunvolt and Azure Striker Gunvolt 2, with director Yoshihisa Tsuda and action supervisor Keiji Inafune returning with the hope that they can “bring the ultra-refined 2D action the series is known for to the next level.”
In Azure Striker GUNVOLT 3, you play as the shrine maiden Kirin who has a Septimal power that lets her seal the abilities of others. Kirin also has a unique combat style that combines the use of enchanted talismans with a sword that was crafted from a pewter staff.
The developer has outlined the game’s key features as below:
- Satisfying swordplay meets light-speed superpowers: Experience the exhilarating 2D action your own way! Take control of Kirin’s stylish sword action or Gunvolt’s devastating lightning powers to clear stages with show-stopping abilities!
- The thrilling near-future dystopian story plays out in real-time with Story Mode+: Characters talk and banter without interrupting gameplay thanks to Story Mode+, allowing their personalities to shine and the story to develop without diluting the action experience. Full English voices are available along with the original Japanese!
- New songs from “The Muse” Lumen heat up the battle: Put on a show with your gameplay to earn “Kudos” points and the virtual pop idol Lumen will start a performance of her own, replacing the stage track with a vocal pop song! 7 brand new songs are included alongside a large selection of classic songs from the series.
- Kirin and Gunvolt’s team-up creates a new power – Image Pulse: Collect over 150 types of “Image Pulses,” giving form to Gunvolt’s memories. Image Pulses allow you to summon comrades and rivals from Gunvolt’s past to attack, grant abilities, and more.
Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 is now available digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
