Idea Factory International and Compile Heart have announced that Azur Lane: Crosswave will release on Nintendo Switch next year.

The 3D action shooter game takes place in a world where personified battleships from across the globe battle it out in side-scrolling gameplay.

The military from four nations – Eagle Union, Royal Navy, Iron Blood and Sakura Empire – unite in a Joint Military Exercise, a monumental event in which they will face rigorous battles.

With more than 25 characters and over 30 support characters to choose from, you must lead your fleet to victory – destroying the battleships, aircraft carriers and other enemies that threaten your existence.

The game has four different modes – Story Mode, Extreme Battle Mode, Photo Mode and Episode Mode – with the chance to equip your characters with more powerful gear to help you dominate your opposition.

The Nintendo Switch port will include Taihou and Formidable as playable characters which each come with three support characters and additional story content, and an updated Photo Mode where you can choose up to six characters to pose using extended camera angles.

Azur Lane: Crosswave will release at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2021.
