Axiom Verge creator Thomas Happ has announced that award-winning game will see release on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U later this year.
Heavily influenced by classics such as Metroid, Contra, and Blaster Master, the self-prescribed retro-style action-platform-exploration game was created in a 16-bit style while introducing more modern elements.
Players are granted power over glitches, letting them scramble enemies, corrupt environments, and enter hidden areas, exploring a hostile alien world as a failed scientist looking to understand his role within it.
Happ created the entire game alone across five years, an effort that covers programming, design, art, animations and music.
Axiom Verge will release on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U later this year.
