Thomas Happ Games has announced that Axiom Verge will see release on Nintendo Switch this October.

The indie action-adventure sensation was heavily influenced by classics such as Metroid, Contra, and Blaster Master, created in a 16-bit style while looking to introduce more modern elements.

Players are cast as the scientist Trace, who, after being injured wakes up to find that he is in an ancient world. Soon granted power over glitches, players can scramble enemies, corrupt environments, and enter hidden areas, exploring the hostile alien world in looking to understand Trace’s role within it.

There will also be the Axiom Verge: Multiverse Edition. That will include a specially commissioned 2 Player Productions documentary about Thomas Happ and the making of Axiom Verge, a copy of the game, a deluxe booklet with developer commentary and art, and a double-sided poster.

Axiom Verge will see release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on October 17th.
